I was given a copy of this book by the author in exchange for an honest review.
Clementine is an identical twin and has been searching for her sister, Lucy who was last seen working on Emerald Street as a sex worker. Clementine loves her sister very much and would do anything to find her and be close again. A few years later, Clementine is finally reunited with her sister, but along the way some dark family secrets are revealed which threaten the comfortable and safe life she has managed to build for herself and her four year old daughter. Will Clementine find her happy ever after or will she wish she had stayed looking for Lucy?
This book was a brilliant read! It had me hooked form the beginning and I found that I couldn't put it down. The main character, Clementine was a strong, kind individual who always wanted the best for others and put the needs of others before herself. She never gave up on her quest to find her sister even though she had to overcome quite a few hurdles along the way.
I found the pace of the book just right and the storyline had a joyous flow which kept me interested from start to finish. I enjoyed the fact that the story was both serious and humorous, allowing me to laugh and cry along the way!!
This is the third book written by Julie Houston and although I haven't had the opportunity of reading her first two books- "Goodness Grace and Me" and "The One Saving Grace", it was an absolute pleasure to be given a copy of this one! This will be definitely be a book too look out for in 2016 and I for one will be recommending it at every opportunity!!
5 out of 5 stars
