"All the Rage" by Courtney Summers is a recommended read by Netgalley.
The story revolves around a serious incident which happens to the main character, Romy one night at a school party with the boy that she fancies beyond words and then a second incident involving the disappearance of Penny, one of the most popular girls in school, which occurs a few months later at another school party.
Due to these events, Romy is torn between two personalities and has to spend her time dealing with the bullies of her school, her mother's nice but overbearing concerns, the busy bodies of the town folk and the consequences of her actions, which are not always the well thought out.
Along the way, Romy develops a love interest in a work colleague called Leon and has to battle with how she feels towards him against the effects of what happened to her the first school party. This has a huge impact upon their fast growing relationship and Romy isn't sure it's worth hurting Leon for the sake of her messed up situation.
I really enjoyed the intensity in which the story was written and the emotional rollercoaster which Romy found herself on day after day. It was also a nail biting journey watching her trying to unravel events surrounding the disappearance of her one time friend and those around her.
I found "All the Rage" to be a an emotional and dramatic read and is definitely one for recommendation!
Rating: 4/5
