I received a copy of this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
Synopsis
In her guise as 'Dear Amy', agony aunt for a local newspaper, Margot Lewis has dealt with all sorts of letters - but never one like this...
Dear Amy,
I've been kidnapped by a strange man.
I don't know where I am.
Please help me,
Bethan Avery
This must be a cruel hoax. Because Bethan Avery has been missing for nearly two decades.
But as the present-day search intensifies for another missing schoolgirl, Margot is unnerved enough to take the letter to the police, hoping they will dismiss it as a sick joke.
Instead, they let Margot in on a little secret. One that confirms her darkest fears and tangles her up in the search for the sender, which could save one young girl's life and cost Margot her own...
My review
This book was such a shocker, I wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't read it for myself! When Margot first started to receive the strange letters asking for help she could never have imagined what she was getting herself into.
The beginning of this book was pretty straightforward and I thought I had things sussed. But then it kept changing it's flow, going back in time and then to the present and messing with my thought process! I always thought one of the main characters were involved in the disappearance of the girl's but I was wrong!! He remained on side of Margot from start to finish and things blossomed for them in the end.
The last time I read a psychological thriller this good was "Valentina" by S.E Lynes. I was very impressed with this book and hope this gets nominated for some sort of award in a YA category!!!
5 out of 5 stars!
