"Fates & Furies" was a book that unfortunately I could not get to grips with. From the first few pages, I understood the main character was called Lotto and he had just married his young pretty wife in secret. The story moves on to talk about how Lotto's parents met and when he was born. A few years later, Lotto's father passes away and his mother explains that they have no money left.
It is after this it hard to get a grasp on the storyline and the characters. It wasn't that the writing was bad, I just did not find that initial "spark" to keep me reading on and therefore, did not finish reading the book.
I'm sure that "Fates & Furies" is a good book but it just was not good for me!
