"Undertow" by K.R Conway is a recommended Netgalley read.
This book has been an enjoyable read. Set in a "fantasy" world, the story takes on the experiences of a young girl called Eila who inherits a family home in another state paid for by a mysterious buyer. As Elia moves in with her aunt Mae and settles into her new surroundings, she realises that things are not all what they seem!
Upon Elia's arrival to her new home, she finds most of the locals are very interested in her family home and history and she doesn't know why. Elia befriends a group of youngsters, Ana, MJ, Raef and Kian from the neighbourhood who help her to understand the true powers that her family possessed and still do, through her.
I liked the relationships Elia formed with her friends as they really looked out for her in her time of need, especially her love interest, Raef. The story flowed at a steady pace and took you inside the minds of what each character was feeling at all times.
I think K. R Conway did a good job with this book and I would recommend it as a good read for anyone interested in the fantasy genre.
